Blurb

FOREWORD

The bull and bear are used to symbolise the people of this world who have completely different interests and ways of life. The front cover illustration shows the two as real friends enjoying themselves together whilst fishing. They are a good example to everybody and the friendship leaves room for others to reflect upon it. Every day that we think about how we act towards other is a good day!

Through the sales of this book children who face huge disadvantages will be given support.

Excerpt

Glify and Power, the mountain lion, were well on their way at the break of dawn. They had to cross the glacier and in order to be certain that they’d be able to return by nightfall they had to leave early.

They were now close to the Smiling Polar Bear. The mountain stret-ched before them gleaming in the sun, white and majestic.
Power whispered to Glify “that’s the Polar Bear who watches over the Valley of the Butterflies and would strike down anyone with a pillar of ice if they attempted to enter the valley without permission.”

The mountain lion went with Glify to the Valley of the Butterflies. He wanted to be able to protect the little bear should it be necessary. Power knew every twig and stone in the area, he knew the safest paths to the mysterious valley. The pair made good progress and were now climbing the winding path to the glacier.

Glify, not used to the bright light of the glacier found it very impressive as the sun caused the snow to sparkle.
The pair climbed steadily, although they occaisionally stopped to listen to the mysterious silence. Sometimes it seemed as though the Smiling Polar Bear was humming to itself.

Glify and the mountain lion soon left the glacier far behind and a rocky gorge now lay before them. Tall and mighty trees rose up out of the dark depths and Power stood still.

“‘Glify,” he said, “now you have to go on without me. I may not enter the valley. Go now and I’ll wait for you here.”
